What is the one phrase that you don't mind hearing on any other day EXCEPT your birthday?? Heck, you even enjoy using it but you don't want it to be said to you on your birthday.

THE PHRASE??

"It's the thought that counts."

Yup. It's not everday that you have a reason to celebrate and receive presents, so on that very special day you would want all the best treatments from everyone, even strangers!.

"Stupid guy stepped on my foot today. What a birthday."

"They don't sell chocolates here. No chocolates for my birthday?!?!"

"Teacher scolded me because i didn't do my homework. She knew it was my birthday! Stupid teacher."

Oops i'm supposed to be talking bout pressies, not treatment.

It is a common fact that we are all very lazy to buy presents, it's not the money, but the trouble to think of something creative and go and look for it or even make it yourself. How often have you received watches, clothes, decorative items and jewelries for your birthday? TOO OFTEN! Too often that now, people are so lazy to buy presents for you knowing how sick you are of these common gifts. Now, would you rather they make something extra-ordinary for you? Or would you prefer the tradisional and conventional ones? For example:

1. A homemade card.

--> The most practical and easiest way to say Happy Birthday to a person. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!, they say, and hand you the card. You look at them wonderingly, as if expecting for more than a card. At this, they say--'It's the thought that counts right??" You smiled faintly, regretting how often you have used this line before, and start to think how you are going to burn this card/dump it in the wastepaperbasket/use it as rough paper/... **Just kidding k.. i keep the cards.:D*

2. A few biji of lucky stars.

--> one for only you, two for double happiness... your friend recites the meaning of the number of stars to you. As you stare at the three little lucky stars in your hand, you wonder if three means RM0.30 spent on folding those stars. But hey, don't be sad, it's the thought that counts.. RIGHT?

3. A homemade photoframe

--> HAPPY BIRTHDAY, here's something for you!. At first you're happy when you get the 'pretty' photoframe, and your beautiful/cute/handsome face stares back at you, but soon you peer closer and you see some glue marks on the frame, plus a little scratches here and there. Then again, it's the thought that counts, isn't it?

OKay enough elaborations. To sum it up, yes, we know that it's the thought that counts, but please don't overdo it! It's cool to receive creative gifts, but noone wants to be given a bottle cap pencil holder and have the giver say--'isn't it creative? it may not be worth a lot, but it's the thought that counts, right???". Unless you can't afford anything, and that would be me. HAha.. just kidding.

But i seriously am very lazy to shop for presents.

Maybe someday you would get a bar of Kit-KAt for your birthday.

MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS I AM SO DAMN TIRED.

Just reached home at around 7, had dinner and here i am. Some hari kokurikulum thing in school lar, nothing worth mentioning. All that you guys need to know is i worked like hell and now i'm so freaking exhausted so i may not be able to stay up to watch football at 945. And i can't even remember who's playing then, i know it's germany, but forgot who the opponent is. Anyway it sounds quite good, so i'll most prolly try to keep myself awake and watch. then i would seriously be a walking zombie in school, throwing tantrums at my physics teacher and cursing her style of teaching during my first period like i did on monday, falling asleep in physics class, cursing and scolding everyone i see. Notice that it all connects to physics. IT's because on monday, we didn't have bio class, because i would curse more during bio, cause i'm pissed off by the marking of the bio paper. The scar to my results. yeesh.

JOY TO THE WORLD

:D. I was MIA (Missing In Action) for one week

but grief not, for i am back!!

Anyway, the exam was quite ok. Maths was hard.
Example of question:
1. A takes t days to finish a job, B takes t+5 days to finish the same job. First, B works alone on the job for 3 days, then A and B work together to complete it for 4.8 days. What is t?
--I didn't know how to answer this. Left the whole question blank. Anyway my dad did it and the answer is 10. :D

SCHOOL! One week of school!! I HATE SCHOOL.
But i LOVE FIFA WORLD CUP 2006.
I haven't stayed up until 3am or 5am to watch any matches yet, but may do so in the later matches. These begininning ones are slightly boring. Kinda disappointed with England's performance. Brazil too, against Croatia. I expected more than 1-0. Oh And i expected Japan to beat Australia too, i mean, 3 goals in 10 minutes!??! I almost fainted. Yesterday, Argentina beat S&M 6-0. So cool. Such a big difference in skills. Oh and Ecuador is damn chun lar, but i think Germany will still win in the group. :D

Wow i need to thank some people here because even though i haven't been blogging for a week there's still people visiting my blog! Wow. Very surprised, because there's nothing to read here. HHAaa.... the least so far was 9 people a day. Incredible. 9!! AHhaaaa....

Shit. Spm is coming. Need to study like mad. But no mood lar. My mid year exams results were ok, but i wasn't very happy with a few of them, mainly Chinese, BIologi (coz a teacher who doesn't teach bio marked it because our bio teacher is currenly in the hospital), and BM. Yeah.

OH CHEER 2006 is in less than a months time!!

Holidays are almost over.

What have i done??
-gone to extra class for a week
-met up with my friends in KL
-went shopping
-go online every single day
-blog every few hours

And i'm going to singapore tonight. NOT FOR SHOPPING, mind you. I have to sit for some Asean Scholarship Test tomorrow morning. 9 of us got it, i think. Huilin, Janet, Jiamien, William, KianYean, SiangFoo, Joel, Honjian, and yours truly. I don't think i would pass though, so that explains why i'm not studying for it. ("p)

Going to watch DaVinciCode on DVD later. Yeah i know i wanted to watch it in the cinema. BUT I don't want to waste my money (cause i may not be able to get through even after paying, which is dumb). And people said it's not a good movie. So was Xmen. After that dumb french show on monday, i was kind of reluctant to watch movies. Lost hope in movies. No idea why. Suddenly have this feeling that all shows are going to be a waste of money for me. Aihzzz... DVDs are still better. Although not as clear...

:D i'm so bored right now i'm nudging people to talk on MSN. It's weird that i'm not motivated to study at all after seeing lots of friends in PJ studying everyday. I mean--i know SPM is important. But i do know the meaning of HOLIDAY. I checked the dictionary, the definition? 'A time of rest from work and school'. REST FROM WORK!! See? Don't study larr.. and no homework... Haihzzz... Another voice in my head:'SPM coming lar!! Study!!'. Oh screw you voice in my head. I'm not going to waste my precious holidays studying and worrying about SPM which is in October..... yeesh. I hate studying.

OH yeah i promised you guys some photos right?
Well here they are..

Oh wait before i post them, i just have to crap a little bout yesterday. Yesterday was the silliest outing ever. We were supposed to meet up at 3-ish, but the whole group only managed to come together at around 5-ish. So from 3 something, it was me, hakimi, and winston (am i allowed to say this>?) walking around in circles, looking at clothes (hakimi and me) while winston was glued to his handphone (sms-ing a certain someone i have no idea who coz he doesn't want to tell me but i can guess cause everyone talks about it but i won't reveal the name here huh). Then, lydia, kenny, and jiayang came at around 5. And kay aun and chunwei strolled in half an hour later. That's when we said--'Oh let's watch a movie.' But after like 15 minutes standing in front of the counter trying to decide which show to watch, we decided to go bowling. RIght. So lydia, hakimi, winston, and kayaun bowled while i watched. Jiayang, Chunwei, and kenny were just there. So were DonShue and Geoffrey and Shaun (oh sorry for not calling you out larr... so busy.. And mamaking at night may not be suitable for me . LOL.)

HELLO!

yes this is jocelyn reporting today's happenings from KL. From Lydia's house, actually. Well let's see what happened today. I went out to ou (yes.. again) for shopping with Denise. And i came back empty handed, not because i didn't see anything i like, but because i saw so many things i LOVED, so i decided to bring my mum there so she can pay for me! Ahha.. I was interested in a shirt and a skirt. Normally i don't wear skirts so it was kinda surprising that i liked the skirt. My style is just jeans and a shirt. No frilly tops, no skirts, and lastly, NO MAKEUP. I hate make-up. It's so annoying when you have to put it on and keep looking at the mirror to check whether it's still there and in place. I really admire those who can pull it off well. They look really good in it. But i'm too lazy. And i'm not that type. =P Oh anyway today's shopping trip with Denise wasn't that un-fruitful anyway-- i got to chat with her and catch up with all the church gossip and news, plus, i met a lot of people in ou today! Who was there= Amanda, Su ann, Desmond, Dawson, MunWei, DonShue, Kenny.... :P.

Anything happened today? It's 06.06.06!!! Hahaha.. nothing much happened today, xcept that the tv here in kl just went bonkers. When we switched it on, it just kept flickering. The screen went off, on, off, on, off and on continuously. :P. So conclusion is, our tv is spoilt. HAHAA.. time to buy a new tv. lolz.

Presenting...the worse movie in the whole wide world.
'VIOLENCE DES ECHANGE'

Whose choice it was: Amanda (well partly mine, but it was because it was the only movie which none of us had seen and which timing suited us well)

Why it sucked: THERE WAS NO STORYLINE!! All we saw was factory machines factory machines and factory machines… because the movie was about some guy named Philip who was assigned to be a consultant in a new factory and fire around 80 people. He fell in love with a woman there who was against that idea, because... making 80 people lose their source of income is just plain evil! Well he obviously didn't realize that. J. So in the end the woman got kind of sick with him (who was so looking forward to moving in with her) because he was too obsessed over his work. THE ENDING SCENE?? Philip going to the beach with some new lady. We were all looking at each other, asking--'who is that??' and then he gave the blondie a kiss. And then we all realized that the previous woman had dumped him. Before we even had time to digest that information, the credits came out. !!! DUMB!! PLAIN DUMB!!!

Why we enjoyed ourselves: When we went in, the whole cinema was empty. Being the usual crazy self, we started climbing up onto the seats to take photos. We only managed to take three photos before some girl came in with her boyfriend, staring at us as if we were mad lunatics. We did look like that, actually. But hey, teenage life is all about having fun! Right? Right?

What we found amusing about the movie: The one and only interesting scene was censored!! Yes, the sex scene. But we found it pretty funny too because they had sex the second time they met. LOL. What's more, when the fellow behind us in the cinema was censoring that part, we caught sight of a subtitle below that wrote--'Ravenous!' Ahh.. thank you, Mr.i-need-to-censor-every-nice-scene-of-the-movie, for giving us the pleasure of imagining the whole scene based on one RAVENOUS word.

What we learnt from the movie: FRENCH!! The French language is so weird. It was like really weird, like erm.. let's see, 'horseuecorneaishculrasekieioaui...' Basically, their tone and vocabulary (I don't really know whether it is the vocabs or the grammar ...) is just plain PLAIN. Even when the guy was angry, it was like the same expression and tone. Oh but we did learn how to say 'asshole' in French, which is---'DU CUL'. We got that because it was written on the wall of the factory. Sadly, we couldn’t hear what 'f***' was in French, because the guy was speaking too fast, or rather, we didn't know what to expect you know. 'Flying f**' FLEW past our ears too. :D

Why I had fun (the whole day): We had steamboat at johnny's place, and yeah we just sat there and dumped everything into the wok and chatted away. I don't particularly like steamboat, but it was pretty fun playing with the stuff in the pot. :D. And the rest didn’t eat the vegetables, so happily I snatched up all the veggie!! Okay, so I like vegetables. I’m not normal. Yea, but they're so juicy and nice!! How can you not like it?? Or LOVE it?

Yeah so that was the summary of our outing for today. Forgot to mention who was there--Hakimi, Kay Aun, Huey Wen, Kai Ying, Amanda and me. Huey wen didn't join us for the movie though, because she didn't want to trouble her mum who had to come all the way to fetch her. So sweeet.. but luckily she didn't go for the movie too because she would have wasted a good 8 bucks. Plus, 2 bucks each for the LONG JOHN SILVER'S chips recommended by the food princess Amanda which tasted fantastic and was finished before the movie even started. :D

HAving lotsa trouble uploading the photos right now because im using tmnet. Not streamyx. I'll show you all the lame photos we took next time. :P

Wow. time sure flies. The first week of holidays is almost over already.

I guess time flies when you're having fun. In my case, it would be going online 24/7... And next week (tmr onwards), would be going shopping and meeting up with kawan and all...

Hm. Triple scare... What's more, 'THE OMEN' would be opening in the cinemas on that particular day. Some people are predicting that it would be DOOMSDAY. Hm. See:

I took a photo of the article from THE STAR newspaper coz i was really lazy to scan it. Yeah.

What should we make out of this? Are we supposed to stay awake on monday night, fearing for whatever awaits us on TUESDAY? I don't know. ALL i know is it's going to be a very frightful day for some. Not me. :D

According to the article, a lady who is speculated to give birth on tuesday is terribly afraid that she would be giving birth to that boy in 'the omen'. Hmph. Yeah i watched stuff like that in JU-ON. Ladies giving birth to ghosts. Scared the hell out of me.

feel like watching 'the omen' though. But i'm hundred percent sure noone would want to watch it with me. Looks too freaky. And we would probably be hiding our heads behind anything that is available there most of the time. Or we would probably run out from the cinema ten minutes into the show. Yeah. So... maybe not, huh?

Personally, 06.06.06 is going to be a normal day for me. Just like 01.02.03.04.05.06 was a normal moment for me. I don't even remember what i was doing then. That's like one second, or less then that, how am i supposed to do something memorable in one second? So i didn't really bother i guess.

So sorry. I don't know what to do.

Today, my parents and my sis and i were talking bout Da Vinci Code. As christians, we obviously did not agree with the 'facts' from the boook. We talked about the forbidden fruit and all.... because in the book, the fruit was an apple. But the bible never mentioned the fruit's identity. IT was just--'THE FORBIDDEN FRUIT.' fullstop. My sis so blur::

Me: When i was small, i always thought it was a banana... because when they acted it out in plays, they always use the banana...
Mum: *laughs nonstop* (asks Joanna) Do you know what fruit it is??
Joanna: I know lar! It's the apple!
Mum and me : *laughs*
Joanna: Yeah it is! That's why the man's thingy is called Adam's apple because Adam choked on his apple!
Mum: HUH?? *laughs*
Joanna: And that's why lotsa companies have logos saying Eden with an apple shape!
Me: yeah dats true.. hahaa...
Mum: BUt in the bible, it's just the forbidden fruit!
Me: Yeah.. HAHA..
Joanna: Is it?
Me: But somehow apples are always linked to the forbidden fruit.. hm...

And then we started talking bout Job(Job right?) who was swallowed by a big fish. Most people think it's a whale. IT"S JUST A BIG FISH!!! (i butted in and said that it was SINBAD who was swallowed by a whale.. lol.. you know.. those storiess...)

ANd then..

Me: I also remember that Dumbo, or Jumbo, the flying elephant...

Joanna and mum: IT's DUMBO.

ME and dad: NO! It's JUMBO!!

Blah blah blah..

Then we chatted bout dumbo or jumbo whatever it's name was and how it learnt to fly......

You know.. in the cartoon.. Jumbo/Dumbo got drunk and started hiccuping bubbles and ended up on some tree where they met the crows that taught him how to fly with his enormous ears.

Yeah so that's the story.

And btw i just realized.. It's DUMBO. hehe...

Conclusion?
We all agreed that Dan Brown is a smart writer. And my dad added that if he was pro-christian, he would have been a magnificent bible study leader, with his brilliant mind. Joanna said DaVinciCode reminded her of 'The Beautiful Mind'. Man, the mere thought of that show freaks me out. I couldn't sleep after i watched that movie. Freaky.

Anyway, the forbidden fruit isn't an apple. OK?

I seriously want to take sleeping pills.
I HAVE TROUBLE SLEEPING!!!!

Insomnia.. you call that. Right? Even when i was so so so sleepy like yesterday, i had to lie on my bed for almost an hour and a half before i could sleeep. Man. What's wrong with me?!?! So that is why today i wasn't in a good mood. !!!

Anyway, i finally got myself technorati-ed. For fun. I don't see the embeded logo here though. OH well. :D.

1. Oh Oh oh i just read in the newspaper that the new BATWOMAN is a lesbian. HMM?? And she has long wavy hair, which is cool, but lesbian? erm. Well all that's left to say is--Poor guys, you don't stand a chance. ahaaa..

2. Taylor Hicks has signed the record deal with producer Clive Davis. Heard from my mum that an article claimed that it would be hard to market Taylor Hicks because he is not good looking, his voice range is not very wide, and his dancing is off-rhythm. What i told my mum? 'Ahh don't worry, there would be tons of people buying his CD. He has thousands and thousands of supporters everywhere. He's going to be a huge success. (i hope)' But Katharine may do better than him though. We shall see. :)

3. Peter Crouch has a new celebration dance step! wait. what happened to youtube? Oh its under maintainence. Video some other time then....

What happen to all those 'jessica knows i still love her' and 'the song for jessica--'What's left of me' bullshit? That liar. Hhmph.

Oh well. This hollywood people change partners as often as they change their clothes. When they get sick of someone, they just threw him/her away. And they just sleep with anyone they know. For example, that Wilmer Valderrama a.k.a Fez from That '70s show has slept with Ashlee Simpson, Lindsay Lohan, Mandy Moore, Jeniffer Love Hewitt.....
