'VIOLENCE DES ECHANGE'

Whose choice it was: Amanda (well partly mine, but it was because it was the only movie which none of us had seen and which timing suited us well)

Why it sucked: THERE WAS NO STORYLINE!! All we saw was factory machines factory machines and factory machines… because the movie was about some guy named Philip who was assigned to be a consultant in a new factory and fire around 80 people. He fell in love with a woman there who was against that idea, because... making 80 people lose their source of income is just plain evil! Well he obviously didn't realize that. J. So in the end the woman got kind of sick with him (who was so looking forward to moving in with her) because he was too obsessed over his work. THE ENDING SCENE?? Philip going to the beach with some new lady. We were all looking at each other, asking--'who is that??' and then he gave the blondie a kiss. And then we all realized that the previous woman had dumped him. Before we even had time to digest that information, the credits came out. !!! DUMB!! PLAIN DUMB!!!

Why we enjoyed ourselves: When we went in, the whole cinema was empty. Being the usual crazy self, we started climbing up onto the seats to take photos. We only managed to take three photos before some girl came in with her boyfriend, staring at us as if we were mad lunatics. We did look like that, actually. But hey, teenage life is all about having fun! Right? Right?

What we found amusing about the movie: The one and only interesting scene was censored!! Yes, the sex scene. But we found it pretty funny too because they had sex the second time they met. LOL. What's more, when the fellow behind us in the cinema was censoring that part, we caught sight of a subtitle below that wrote--'Ravenous!' Ahh.. thank you, Mr.i-need-to-censor-every-nice-scene-of-the-movie, for giving us the pleasure of imagining the whole scene based on one RAVENOUS word.

What we learnt from the movie: FRENCH!! The French language is so weird. It was like really weird, like erm.. let's see, 'horseuecorneaishculrasekieioaui...' Basically, their tone and vocabulary (I don't really know whether it is the vocabs or the grammar ...) is just plain PLAIN. Even when the guy was angry, it was like the same expression and tone. Oh but we did learn how to say 'asshole' in French, which is---'DU CUL'. We got that because it was written on the wall of the factory. Sadly, we couldn’t hear what 'f***' was in French, because the guy was speaking too fast, or rather, we didn't know what to expect you know. 'Flying f**' FLEW past our ears too. :D

Why I had fun (the whole day): We had steamboat at johnny's place, and yeah we just sat there and dumped everything into the wok and chatted away. I don't particularly like steamboat, but it was pretty fun playing with the stuff in the pot. :D. And the rest didn’t eat the vegetables, so happily I snatched up all the veggie!! Okay, so I like vegetables. I’m not normal. Yea, but they're so juicy and nice!! How can you not like it?? Or LOVE it?

Yeah so that was the summary of our outing for today. Forgot to mention who was there--Hakimi, Kay Aun, Huey Wen, Kai Ying, Amanda and me. Huey wen didn't join us for the movie though, because she didn't want to trouble her mum who had to come all the way to fetch her. So sweeet.. but luckily she didn't go for the movie too because she would have wasted a good 8 bucks. Plus, 2 bucks each for the LONG JOHN SILVER'S chips recommended by the food princess Amanda which tasted fantastic and was finished before the movie even started. :D
